2013 Newberry Christmas Lights
Taffy the golden retriever welcomes the 2013 Newberry Christmas lights; that's her you hear barking in the background of the video (link below).
Newberry Water and Light lineman Joe Lively, in bucket, village Department of Public Works employees Debra Major and Dan Puckett, with beard, along with part-time employee Jerry Overland get the job done on a sunny, 45-degree November day.
Thanks to all of you. We love the Christmas lights.
For those of you who do not know, the green house in the background is our humble abode, which we share with Pepper, Peanut, Stormy, Pickles, Penelope, Peter, Olivia and a who carload of tropical fish! God is good!
Below are photographs from the endeavor. You can view a video too. Find it on YouTube at -

Lights going up in Newberry!
Village workers decorate Newberry with the traditional star and bells. The process takes several days, but it's well worth the effort. Thanks, guys. We appreciate your hard work and the beauty it brings to the village. These pictures show Matt Perry in the bucket with several other village employees directing traffic for the annual raising of the lights. Next are the lights on the poles; and then - It's Christmastime in Newberry!
